Leez Priory Wedding Videography | Lillie & Louie’s Disney-Inspired Celebration
Lillie and Louie’s wedding at Leez Priory felt like something straight out of a fairy tale. With subtle Disney touches, a romantic Tudor backdrop, and moments filled with genuine emotion, it was the kind of day that’s a joy to capture. This time, I was behind the camera as their wedding videographer, filming everything from groom prep to a sparkler send-off.
Leez Priory is a venue fit for royalty. It’s a 16th-century Tudor mansion nestled in the Essex countryside, surrounded by 40 acres of parkland and lakes. With its towers, turrets, and beautiful lawns, it’s no wonder it’s been named one of the best wedding venues in the UK.
A Morning of Nerves, Excitement & First Looks
The day started at the Fisherman’s Cottage, where Louie and the groomsmen got ready. The atmosphere was a mix of laughs, nerves, and final touches — always a great time to capture those pre-ceremony emotions on film.
Over in the bridal suite, Lillie shared a quiet, emotional first look with her dad. It was one of those moments where time seems to pause — you could feel the emotion in the room.
An Outdoor Ceremony on the Lawn
The ceremony was held on Leez Priory’s lawn, just in front of the main tower. Guests gathered as a light drizzle began to fall — but like something out of a movie, the rain stopped just as everyone took their seats. The sky held long enough for the entire ceremony to go ahead without a hitch.
Lillie and Louie’s ceremony was full of feeling. You could see the anticipation on their faces and the connection between them in every glance. Louie couldn’t hold back his tears, and it’s moments like that that make wedding films so powerful to look back on.
The Great Hall & a Fairytale Reception
After the ceremony, guests made their way into The Great Hall for the wedding breakfast. The historic dining space was the perfect setting — dramatic, elegant, and full of character. Every part of the day felt personal, yet timeless.
In the evening, the celebrations moved outside where a live band set the tone for the party. A dance floor was laid out on the lawn, and guests joined the couple under open skies to dance the night away.
One of the standout moments was the father-daughter dance, which caught everyone by surprise. Lillie’s dad had secretly recorded a song for the dance, and when it began to play, there wasn’t a dry eye in sight. It was one of the most emotional and heartfelt moments I’ve ever filmed.
There was a bouquet toss, plenty of dancing, and just as the sun dipped below the horizon, the couple closed the night with a beautiful sparkler exit.
A Videographer’s Perspective at Leez Priory
Filming weddings at Leez Priory always feels like working on a film set. There’s so much beauty to work with — from the Tudor architecture to the grand drive, the intimate ceremony spots to wide-open lawns. It’s a venue where every corner offers something cinematic.
Lillie and Louie embraced the romantic, fairytale charm of the venue with subtle Disney-inspired details. They looked every bit the part — like a modern prince and princess. But what made the day truly magical was the emotion, the laughter, and the love that surrounded them.
